The African Leadership University (ALU) and General Electric (GE) joined forces to launch a first of its kind post-graduate program in Industrial Internet. The ALU Africa Industrial Internet Program (AIIP) will upskill recent graduates and working professionals with the required technical and business skills to be able to take advantage of industrial big data to make timely business decisions. Participants will learn how to build applications on the cloud that can leverage industrial big data, Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning to increase operational efficiency, cut costs and grow revenue for their business.

A growing network of connected physical assets, designed to apply machine learning to industrial big data, the Industrial Internet will fuel unprecedented gains in productivity and innovation for industrial companies. The AIIP is the only program in the continent that holistically prepares its participants to take full advantage of the industrial internet. Program modules include cloud application development, Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, big data as well as intrapreneurship and innovation.

The AIIP is designed to be flexible and will include a mix of online learning content as well as 3-5 days in-person intensives to be held at the GE Africa Innovation centre in Johannesburg. The program will also employ ALU’s project-based approach where participants will be exposed to actual industrial data sets and problems in order to develop skills which can immediately be transferred to their jobs.

Applications for the AIIP will be done online and a call for applications will follow shortly with this announcement. In the meantime, feel free to channel any questions or express your interest using the following email address: aiip@alueducation.com.
